Dressed in full Union Army regalia, O.J. Fargo focuses his first-person presentation on an individual Iowa soldier’s Civil War experience. After a brief overview of the state’s involvement, the audience is introduced to a returning Civil War veteran (played by Fargo). He will detail the experiences of an Iowan during the conflict.

In-state rivals meet as the Drake Bulldogs visit Ames for a single-game showdown. This matchup often brings high energy as part of the local rivalry series.

Join for a clear, straightforward overview of menopause and perimenopause. Rachel Frederick, a physician assistant and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, will discuss typical symptoms, myths and misconceptions, and modern approaches to care.

📝 American Revolution Transcribe-a-thon
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Ames Public Library
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by helping history live on. You can bring the words of the people who lived during the American Revolution to life at the library's Transcribe-a-thon. This event is part of the Library of Congress's "By the People" volunteer transcription program. At 10 a.m., there'll be a presentation by Richard Kehrberg of the Iowa State University Department of History on Revolutionary War-era handwriting and documents.
