Happy Thursday!
In today's newsletter, we have a story about Iowa Public Radio’s new location. The new digs, which IPR leaders found earlier this year, will be in the heart of downtown Ames.
In other news, we also have photos from Saturday’s March for Democracy rally. Also, the city and the contractor who is building Schainker Plaza finally struck a deal to fix the troubled downtown project and get it open to the public this year.
For any journalism students, check out our internship application. However, anyone can apply to work in the newsroom. It's more than just reporters — photography, copy editing or administrative-assistant work.
The Voice is always seeking volunteers across all divisions, whether that's in the newsroom, fundraising, marketing, etc. Even if you only have a couple hours a week to give, we can find a place for you. We are also seeking an advertising sales representative.
If you have any questions about opportunities, reach out to Anthony Capps for newsroom questions and Al Weber for advertising, marketing and administrative questions. We'll also be at the Art Cullen event later this month (the Voice is a sponsor) and would be glad to talk with you.

Iowa Public Radio to move to downtown Ames after lease extension ends

After 100 years on the Iowa State University campus, Iowa Public Radio (IPR) will move to downtown Ames by 2028.
IPR is currently located at Iowa State’s Communications Building, 1013 WOI Road.
The offices and studios there were not easy for visitors to find, IPR Executive Director Myrna Johnson told the Ames Voice. The new building, which IPR leaders found earlier this year, will be in the heart of downtown Ames.
Johnson shared her excitement over the new building’s physical visibility and accessibility for Ames residents, noting that it was “much easier to locate.”
